Read our privacy policyA few things to know
It records already-visible online indicators for the WhatsApp Web chats you select, along with observed timestamps. It does not read or record message contents.
No. Presence Journal cannot reveal hidden online statuses or bypass anyone’s privacy settings. It only records indicators that WhatsApp Web already makes visible to you.
Selected contact names, observed timestamps, and preferences are stored locally in Chrome. There is no developer-operated backend for extension activity data.
Yes. Observation relies on WhatsApp Web being open and connected, with the relevant indicators visible. The extension cannot reconstruct past activity or observe unavailable indicators.
Remove Presence Journal from Chrome to remove its extension-local storage. Any CSV files you exported are separate files and must be deleted manually from your device and backups.
No. Presence Journal is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
